On the holding by the employees of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Orsha», within the framework of the republican action «Archives – to school», of a thematic information hour «Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War»

On April 7, 2025, within the framework of the action «Archives to school», as well as for the purposes of civic-patriotic, ideological education, with students of grade 6 «A» of the state educational institution «Secondary School No.21 of Orsha», employees of the State Archive in Orsha held an information hour on the topic: «Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War».

During this event, the children got acquainted with archival documents and photographs reflecting the policy of the Nazi invaders towards the civilian population of the Vitebsk region, including residents of the city of Orsha and the Orsha district during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the numerous atrocities of the Nazis and the irreparable losses that the war brought.

In addition, as part of the «Open Film Archive project», the children were shown the film «Liberation», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents based on archival newsreels.
