Keepers of Historical Heritage

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, on March 25, 2025, students of grade 6 «A» of Gymnasium No.3 in Pinsk visited the institution «Zonal State Archive in Pinsk».

Natalia Kochergina, an archivist of the 1st category, gave a lecture on the topic: «Keepers of Historical Heritage». The children were told about the history of the archive, its structure, storage and use of archival documents. Particular attention was paid to the role of archives in preserving historical memory. During the lecture, it was emphasized that the documents stored in the archives are a valuable source of information for studying the history of our country, its culture and traditions.

At the end of the lecture, a sightseeing tour of the archive was held, where the students got acquainted with the features of storing documents. As part of the Open Film Archive project, the film Liberation of Brest, created by the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Archive, was shown. Information booklets were also prepared for the children to organize a subscription to the BGAKFFD channel among students.
