Conducting lessons on the topic «Historical and cultural heritage of the Grodno region» for students of grades 8 and 9 of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.6 named after F.E.Dzerzhinsky of Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» campaign at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On December 5, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region» conducted 2 lessons on the topic «Historical and cultural heritage of the Grodno region» for students of grades 8 and 9 of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.6 named after F.E.Dzerzhinsky of Grodno».

The archive employees told the schoolchildren about the composition of the documents and the main areas of work of the institution; demonstrated the most valuable documentary materials, which are unique evidence of the historical past of the Grodno region. During the lessons, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents on the events of the Great Patriotic War, which were exhibited in the reading room, as well as with collections of documentary materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

At the end of the lessons, the students were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the archive storage and the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
