On holding a meeting of trade union leaders

In 2024, the trade union movement of Belarus turned 120 years old. This significant date once again confirms that trade unions are necessary at all times for people of all professions.

On December 5, 2024, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Minsk City Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions Vladimir Iosifovich Zubrik and the chairmen of the primary trade union organizations (hereinafter referred to as PTO) of the republican archival institutions, initiated by the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Leonidovich Voinov.

Those present had the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences on a variety of aspects of trade union activities: from record keeping and compiling case lists, which was covered in detail by the Chairperson of the Primary Trade Union of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus T.A.Shevchenko, to issues of assistance to young specialists in allocating places in dormitories, a topic which was touched upon by the Chairperson of the Primary Trade Union of the Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation V.V.Rabetsky.

The Director of the Department O.L.Voinov recalled the significant role of the trade union leader in teams.

The Chairperson of the Primary Trade Union of the Department Yu.A.Zadiran made a proposal to continue the tradition of organizing advanced training for chairpersons of the Primary Trade Union in 2025.

The issues of increasing the salaries of archivists from January 1, 2025, labor protection, professional growth of young workers, holding amateur art competitions among archivists, children’s and adult health improvement in trade union health resorts and many others were not ignored. Those gathered noted that Belarus has built a unique system of social partnership, which allows constructive solutions to almost any issues. The format of such meetings will be continued in the future.
