Republican campaign «Archives for School» in BGAMLI

On December 5, 2024, the campaign «Archives for School» was held in the Belarusian State Archives and Museum (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI), within the framework of which a training seminar-workshop was held on the topic: «Organization of work with funds of personal origin» for 4th-year students of the specialty «historical and archival science» of the history faculty of BSU.

During the course of it, students got acquainted with the methods of work of BGAMLI on collecting, storing and using documents of personal origin.

Director of the archive-museum E.A.Makarenko paid special attention to the issues of staffing BGAMLI with documents of personal origin, the creation of a scientific reference apparatus for them. Leading archivist G.B.Bogomolova spoke about the specifics of the scientific and technical processing of such documents. Leading archivist L.Yu.Studinskaya covered issues of record keeping and ensuring the safety of personal documents, demonstrated fund files, fund cards, explained the differences between delivery inventories, price inventories and inventories of personal files.

Using the example of exhibitions dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V. Bykov and the 125th anniversary of M. Lynkov, leading archivist T.V.Kekeleva acquainted students with the organization of work on the use of documents in BGAMLI, the rules for the work of the reading room of the archive-museum.

The information received will allow future young archivists to develop practical skills in working with personal funds.
