The collection of the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble Museum is one of the richest in the Republic of Belarus. The collection is based on memorial items from the Rumyantsev and Paskevich collections. The collection gives an idea of the decoration of rich noble estates of the late 19th century. The archive employees got acquainted with the unique collections of the museum’s funds, such as: memorial items of the Paskevich family; a collection of handwritten and early printed books; icon painting and religious objects, a collection of paintings by Gomel artists. Gomel historian and local historian Yuri Pankov, a museum employee, told the archive staff about outstanding statesmen, military leaders, representatives of science, culture, education, whose life and work was connected with the history of the region.
