On October 1, 2024, the regional stage of the republican competition of students’ research works «They liberated the Motherland» was held in the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth

The event took place within the framework of the republican heroic and patriotic action «Great Victory – 80». The head of the department for the use and publication of documents of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region V.P.Kokhanko took part in the work of the organizing committee of the competition, held in the form of a student conference.

The students’ research projects dedicated to the liberation of settlements in the Vitebsk region from the Nazi invaders in 1943-1944 were presented to the competent jury.

The best of the presented projects were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees and recommended for participation in the final republican stage of the competition.
