Minsk Regional Museum of Local History Celebrates 65th Anniversary of Opening: ZGA in Molodechno Prepares Exhibition
This year, the Minsk Regional Museum of Local History celebrates its 65th anniversary of opening. Archivists of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Molodechno» have prepared a documentary photo exhibition, which visitors and employees of the archive can see in the reading room.
From the historical reference of the Minsk Regional Museum of Local History in Molodechno and its archival fund, signed on October 28, 1969 by the director of the museum G.N. Pavlova «Based on the decision of the Executive Committee of the Molodechno Regional Council of Workers’ Deputies dated July 31, 1959 No. 422, the Molodechno Regional Museum of Local History was created in Molodechno with subordination to the Department of Culture of the Executive Committee of the Molodechno Regional Council. In January 1960, due to the liquidation of the Molodechno region, the local history museum was renamed the Minsk regional local history museum in the city of Molodechno. In April 1964, the work on creating the exposition of the regional local history museum was completed. Until that time, the museum was engaged in collecting work. The opening of the museum for visitors took place on April 26, 1964. The exposition is deployed in five halls and a lobby. The following themes are presented in the lobby: «The XXII Congress of the CPSU – the Congress of the Builders of Communism», the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of the National Economy of Belarus and the Prospects for the Development of the National Economy of the USSR for 20 Years / 1960-1980 /. «Exploration of Space by Soviet People», «Exploration of the Arctic and Antarctica». In the 1st and 2nd halls, original documents, exhibits, and auxiliary materials are displayed, ranging from the primitive social system to materials from the February Revolution. In the 3rd and 4th halls, materials are presented from the October Socialist Revolution to the modern period. And the 5th hall is dedicated to the nature of the Minsk region…»
