The staff of the state archive of public associations of the Gomel region met with the veteran of the Great Patriotic War N.E.Kasperovich
On June 24, 2024, a meeting was held between employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» and Great Patriotic War veteran Nikolai Evgenievich Kasperovich.
Nikolai Evgenievich shared with archivists his memories of the years of the Great Patriotic War, about what he experienced during those harsh and cruel years of war with the Nazi invaders, about the exploits of Soviet soldiers, their incredible courage and self-sacrifice in the name of Victory over fascism.
Nikolai Evgenievich himself met the war as a 15-year-old boy, and at the age of 17, in June 1943, he left for the active army with a marching company.
As part of the 19th artillery regiment, Nikolai Evgenievich fought through Ukraine, participated in the Iasi-Kishinev operation on the territory of Moldova, in crossing the Vistula River, liberated cities and villages, and took Warsaw twice. After the liberation of Poland, the artillery regiment was transferred to eastern Germany. There Nikolai Evgenievich celebrated the brightest and most unforgettable Victory Day.
Nikolai Evgenievich is a holder of the Order of Glory, III degree, Order of the Patriotic War, I degree, awarded the medals «For Courage», «For the Liberation of Warsaw», «For Victory over Germany» and many anniversary medals.
In conclusion, the meeting participants warmly thanked Nikolai Evgenievich for his story, for his courage, for the opportunity to hear first-hand true information about the events of the Great Patriotic War and wished him health, prosperity, longevity and peaceful skies.
