Conducting a lesson on the topic «Archives and their role in history» for pupils of the children’s health camp «Dream» of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.4 named after D.V. Kazakevich, Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» event in the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On June 17, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «Archives and their role in history».

Archive staff told schoolchildren about the history of the creation of the archive, the main directions of its activities, as well as the importance of the archivist profession. The students were presented with the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive. During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents about the events of the Great Patriotic War on display in the reading room.

The children were given a sightseeing tour of the archive, during which they visited the archive storage and the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
