Conducting a joint online seminar of BSAMLA and the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the VII Summer School of Young Archivists

On June 13, 2024, as part of the VII Summer School of Young Archivists «Current Issues of Acquisition of Archives in the Conditions of Digital Transformation» in Almaty, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLA) together with the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized an online seminar on organizing work with documents of personal origin.

The moderator of the seminar was the head of the Service for the formation of the archival fund of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulnara Zhumagulovna Mukazhanova.

Director of the archive-museum Elena Aleksandrovna Makarenko made a report «Organization of the work of BSAMLA with documents of personal origin», in which she shared the experience of the archive-museum in acquisition, scientific description, accounting, ensuring preservation, creation and development of a scientific reference apparatus for documents of personal funds origin. Particular attention was paid to the work of the institution on the use of documents and their popularization among children and youth, instilling in them a careful attitude towards the documentary heritage stored in the archives and respect for national history.

The head of the Lisakovsky regional state archive of the Kostanay region, Tamasha Bisimbaevna Murzabulatova, spoke about the role and significance of documents of personal origin as part of the historical and cultural heritage in the context of increasing information potential.

Altynai Sakanovna Badanbekova, head of the department for scientific use and publication of archival documents of the State Archives of Almaty, devoted her report to the topic «Archives and museums: new in the acquisition and use of funds of personal origin.»

The organization of the seminar made it possible to discuss a wide range of problems in the field of organizing work with funds of personal origin, including the exchange of experience and information in the field of archival affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
