BGAMLI employees took part in a scientific event at the base Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature NAS of Belarus
On May 20, 2024, as part of the «Week of Belarusian Culture and Art», as well as on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, employees of the information, publication and use of documents department of the institution «Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art» ( hereinafter – BGAMLI) – head of the department, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Veronika Petrovna Skok, leading researcher, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Mikhail Pavlovich Kenko, led by director Elena Aleksandrovna Makarenko, took part in the film screening-report «Stvaryts mastatstva z kla zamnoga», dedicated to front-line Belarusian documentary filmmakers and the film chronicle of the liberation of Belarus.
The scientific report was prepared by the Republican Laboratory of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore named after Kondrat Krapiva of the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature» of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, candidate of art history, associate professor Konstantin Igorevich Remishevsky, using the funds of BGAMLI and BGAKFFD. The film screening included fragments of archival newsreels from the documentaries «The Battle of Vitebsk» (1944) and «The Liberation of Soviet Belarus» (1945).
During the event, an agreement was reached with a potential archivist – the daughter of the Belarusian newsreel Julian Dovner, Lyudmila Yulianovna.
