Conducting a lesson for 8th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On April 10, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» for 8th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.9 named after F.P.Kirichenko, Grodno» held a lesson on the topic «State Archives of the Grodno Region: history and modernity».

Archive staff introduced students to a brief history of archival affairs in the region, talked about the main directions of the archive’s work and the sources of its acquisition, and also demonstrated the most interesting and valuable documentary materials stored in the background of the archive, emphasizing their historical and cultural significance. The children were shown exhibitions of documents on display in the reading room of the archive dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War.

Students were able to learn about the conditions and features of storing archival documents during a sightseeing tour of the archives.
