We brought this day closer as best we could», a film lecture was held for students of the educational institution «Vitebsk Order of the Badge of Honor State Academy of Veterinary Medicine», during which a newsreel film «To the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Vitebsk region from the Nazi invaders» was shown. prepared by BGAKFFD.

Before the start of the session Tatyana Vladimirovna Buevich, Deputy Director of the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region, spoke to the audience. She spoke about the project that is being implemented in pursuance of the Plan for preparing and holding festive events for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of October 5, 2023 No.316. She announced information about human losses during the war years, about material damage caused to Belarus by the Nazi invaders during three long years of occupation.

She informed about the only repository of newsreels and other audiovisual documents in the country – BGAKFFD. She spoke about the work of front-line cameramen, thanks to whom we can see unique newsreels today.

At the end of her speech, Tatyana Buevich announced new film screenings that will be implemented in the «Open Film Archive» project. We brought this day closer as best we could».
