Patriotic education lesson «Talk about war»
On March 26, 2024, as part of the republican action «Archives to School» and the action plan for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, a patriotic education lesson «Talk about war» was held at the Zonal State Archives in Polotsk for students of the Polotsk State Forestry College».
Head of the Department of Use and Publication of Documents Dichkevich M.M. told students about documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War and the places where they were stored, introduced them to the activities of the Polotsk Regional Commission for Assistance in the work of the Extraordinary State Commission to investigate and establish the atrocities of the Nazi invaders and their accomplices.
We remembered the atrocities of haters on our land: the tragedy of Khatyn and the site of the largest mass extermination of people on the territory of Belarus, the Trostenets death camp.
At the end of the lesson, videos from the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents were shown to those present: «Khatyn is our pain», «Smoke and ashes of Trostenets».
