Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers in the ZSA in Zhlobin

On February 15, the Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin hosted a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers and the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

The director and employees of the ZSA in the city of Zhlobin congratulated the employee, Afghan warrior, Martynenko Vasily Fedorovich on this memorable day, expressed warm words of gratitude and sincere wishes of health and well-being to him.

In the reading room of the archive there was an exhibition “On the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers” based on documents from the fund of the personal origin of the Afghan warrior Sergei Vasilyevich Savchenko.

After the solemn meeting, we took part in the requiem meeting “Let’s remember everyone by name,” which took place near the memorial sign to our fallen fellow countrymen – internationalist soldiers.

In honor of those who did not return from the war, and the internationalist soldiers who passed away in peacetime, Zhlobin residents stood in a moment of silence. Then wreaths and flowers were laid at the memorial sign. Gun salvos sounded.
