Anniversary of Z. Astapovich-Bocharova in BGAMLI

On November 29, 2023, in the halls of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art, the opening of an exhibition and a round table dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Zinaida Astapovich-Bocharova (1898–1993) took place; relatives of the artist, researchers, and everyone interested gathered to honor the memory of the artist and her significant contribution to the field of culture.

An exhibition from the funds of BGAMLI «Zakakhanaya ў creativity», prepared specially for the anniversary events, demonstrates the artistic heritage of Z.Astapovich-Bocharova. The artist’s granddaughter Elena Dmitrievna Smirnova and art critic Nadezhda Mikhailovna Usova helped those gathered learn more about Zinaida Astapovich-Bocharova, talked about her artistic tastes and life habits.

An excursion to the archive-museum storage facility was organized for the round table participants, where experts were able to discuss issues of preservation of documents and works of art.

As part of the event, the book «Zinaida Astapovich-Bocharova» (author – Usova N.M.), as well as postcards with images of the artist’s paintings, were presented and donated to the BGAMLI funds. The film «I am 91 years old» (scene, director V. Stepan) became the culmination of the celebration.
