On the participation of employees of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents» in events dedicated to National Unity Day
On September 17, 2021, National Unity Day was celebrated for the first time in Belarus. In such a short period of time, this holiday has become truly popular: reminiscent of the past and looking to the future.
On the eve of this significant date and within the framework of the «Open Film Archive» project, employees of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents» (hereinafter referred to as BGAKFFD) prepared the documentary film «Reunion». The video series contains fragments of 4 film documents stored in the BGAKFFD, and tells the viewer about the events of the autumn of 1939.
On September 15, 2023, the film «Reunion» was presented to the public in two cinemas at once. At the Era cinema (Dzerzhinsk), the chief custodian of the funds, Kot A.K., spoke for schoolchildren in grades 8-10 of educational institutions in the city. At the «Pioneer» cinema (Minsk) for students of grades 8-10 of schools and gymnasiums of the Leninsky district of Minsk, the head of the department of state accounting and scientific reference apparatus M.D. Romanova spoke. The speakers emphasized: National Unity Day first of all symbolizes the national, state and territorial integrity of Belarus and emphasizes the weighty historical foundation of modern statehood.
