A ceremonial event on the eve of National Unity Day at the State Archive of the Minsk Region
On September 17, our country celebrates National Unity Day, dedicated to one of the most important events in Belarusian history – the reunification of Western Belarus and the BSSR in 1939. The holiday was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated June 7, 2021 No.206.
On September 14, 2023, on the eve of National Unity Day, a solemn event was held in the reading room of the State Archives of the Minsk Region, during which an information hour was held for employees on the topic «The unity of the Belarusian people is a fundamental factor in preserving and strengthening the sovereignty and independence of the country».
A documentary exhibition dedicated to National Unity Day was opened in the reading room. The exhibition presents documents from the archives reflecting the historical events of the autumn of 1939: a decree on streamlining the accounting of population movements in the Nesvizh district, on the establishment of a new account of time on the territory of Western Belarus, on the organization of state farms on the territory of Western Belarus, as well as a decree of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) )B on the celebration of the first anniversary of the liberation of the peoples of Western Belarus.
