Conducting a lecture for pupils of the historical detachment of the school camp of secondary school No. 40 in Grodno as part of the celebration of the International Day of Archives

On June 6, 2023, as part of the celebration of the International Day of Archives, the institution «The State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lecture for pupils of the historical detachment of the school camp of secondary school No. 40 in Grodno on the topic «Archives and their role in history».

The staff of the archive told the schoolchildren about the composition of the documents and the main directions of the work of the institution; demonstrated the most valuable documentary materials, which are unique evidence of the historical past of the Grodno region.

Also, the attention of the students was presented to the exhibition of documents «There was a people’s war. Partisans and underground fighters of the Grodno region», «Human fates. In memory of the victims of fascism», «We brought this day as close as we could…», as well as collections of documents and materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

The students were given a tour of the archive, during which they visited the laboratory for the restoration, binding and repair of documents, as well as the archives.
