Conducting an excursion for students of the 7th grade of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 48 of Minsk named after. F.A.Malyshev»
On May 30, as part of the events for the Year of Peace and Creation, the action “Archives for School” and on the eve of Children’s Day and the International Week of Archives, an excursion was held for students and teachers of secondary school No. 48 Minsk named after F.A. Malyshev.
The participants of the tour could visually get acquainted with the types of media of audiovisual documents at the showcase exhibition located in the foyer of the archive. In the reading room, students learned the history of the development of archives, got acquainted with the automated archive search system and albums about Dzerzhinsk, as well as with an album of the photo collection of E. Tomashevskaya-Radziwill, after which the sightseeing tour continued in the laboratory of document restoration and the department of digitization of documents.
The sightseers were particularly interested in the photo and film documents about the Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Alekseevich Malyshev, after whom the school is named. Students plan to use archival materials to prepare for a school conference or for competitive work.
The cinema hall showed the documentary film “New Minsk” (1954), thanks to which the seventh graders were able to see their hometown as it was in the 1950s.
