About conducting classes and excursions for students of the Faculty of History of BSU

On May 31, 2023, as part of the Republican campaign «Archives for School» and the Year of Peace and Creation proclaimed in the Republic of Belarus, classes were held at the National Historical Archives of Belarus for first-year students of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University (specialty «Historical and Archival Studies») in the academic discipline «Belarusian paleography».

During the event, the head of the Department of Ancient Acts, Irina Bober, told the students about the funds of the NIA of Belarus from the period of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Commonwealth, ancient act books and unique documents that are stored in the archive, the history of creation and the main activities of the Department of Ancient Acts. Then she gave the students a tour of the archives of the NIA of Belarus, during which she paid special attention to the conditions for storing documents of the XIV-XVIII centuries.

Classes on the basis of the NIA of Belarus for students who study in the specialty «Historical and Archival Studies» are held regularly. Their goal is to improve the quality of training of future archivists and expand the possibilities of using archival funds in the educational process.
