Presentation of the collection of documents «Grodno region in July-September 1920: government and society. Documents and materials» at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
On April 18, 2023, Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala hosted a presentation of the collection of documents «Grodno region in July-September 1920: government and society. Documents and materials», prepared by the employees of the State Archive of the Grodno region and teachers of the Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala.
The presentation was attended by the Director of the State Archive of the Grodno Region S.I.Miklashevich, Dean of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V.A.Belozorovich, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor A.S.Gorny, employees of the State Archive of the Grodno Region, as well as students of the Yanka State University of Grodno Kupala.
V.A.Belozorovich noted the relevance of the subject of the publication, emphasizing the importance of the joint work of archivists, teachers and students of the university.
The director of the archive, S.I.Miklashevich, thanked the compilers and reviewers of the collection for their assistance in preparing the popular science edition.
A.S.Gorny, who took part in compiling the collection, spoke about the main stages of its preparation, the content of unique documents that reveal previously unknown facts, as well as the difficulties that arose in the process of working on the publication.
L.V.Salkevich, one of the compilers of the collection, spoke about the criteria for selecting documents and the process of archaeographic processing.
This collection presents documents and materials from the funds of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, which reflect the formation and development of volost and district revolutionary committees in the Grodno region in the summer of 1920, their policy in the field of public education, healthcare, agriculture and other areas of public life. The publication will be of interest not only to researchers and students, but also to all those who are interested in the rich past of the Grodno region and strive to preserve historical memory and historical truth.
