About participation in the International Cantor Festival

On April 11, 2023, representatives of the National Historical Archives of Belarus – Deputy Director Maxim Makarov and Leading Researcher of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information Vladimir Denisov – at the invitation of Grigory Abramovich, Chief Rabbi of the Religious Association of Progressive Judaism in Belarus, took part in the 19th International Cantor Festival, which was held at the Center for Progressive Judaism «Beit Simcha» (Minsk).

As part of the event, professional musicians and amateur singers performed songs of both religious and secular nature in different languages: Yiddish, Russian, Belarusian. The hall was attended by representatives of Christian denominations and business circles of Minsk. Such meetings contribute to interethnic and interfaith dialogue and the consolidation of the Belarusian society, which is of particular importance in the Year of Peace and Creation, which is proclaimed in the Republic of Belarus.
