Meeting with members of the memorial detachments of Post No. 1 of the Hero City of Minsk in the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On April 7, 2023, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, a meeting was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus with members of the memorial detachment of Post No. 1, carrying the Honorary Watch of Memory at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square. This time the archive was visited by students of secondary school No. 118 in Minsk.
Elena Kushnova, deputy director of the National Archives, delivered a welcoming speech to the children.
As part of the meeting, the children were given a tour of the archive. Head of the department of funds of personal origin Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush spoke about the history of the National Archives, about the composition and features of storing documents, the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities. During the excursion, the students got acquainted with the photo-documentary exhibitions of the archive dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation: «We, Belarusians are peaceful people…» and to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marat Fedorovich Yegorov, a public figure, chairman of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, president of the International Humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization «Chernobyl-Help», Honored Worker of Culture of the BSSR, participant in the Great Patriotic War, as well as with the banner exhibition «Khatyn – a shrine of national memory», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy of the Belarusian village.
The students visited the archives of funds of personal origin, where they got acquainted with the documents of state and party leaders, scientists of Belarus and participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the archives of funds of partisan formations.
