On the visit of employees of the National Historical Archive of Belarus to the Minsk State College of Digital Technologies
On March 24, 2023, as part of the events of the Year of Peace and Creation declared in the Republic of Belarus and the Republican campaign «Archives for School», a visit of employees of the National Historical Archive of Belarus to the Minsk State College of Digital Technologies took place, where, among others, children with special needs of psychophysical development are trained – under motto «We are not close, we are together!».
The director of the college Georgy Kozel conducted a tour of the college for archivists, during which he showed the classrooms and unique laboratories, spoke about the history of the institution and its specifics, and also introduced teachers who provide an inclusive education process for children with developmental disabilities.
Employees of the NHA of Belarus presented to the students and teachers of the college a banner exhibition «Women of different eras of the history of Belarus» with visualization based on archival materials of the images of women of the Belarusian land from the Middle Ages to our time, as well as a selection of original documents of the 19th – early 20th centuries. on the topic «The role of women in public life in the pre-revolutionary period», which contained, among other things, materials about women from the families of Maxim Bogdanovich and Yanka Kupala, as well as school diaries of pre-revolutionary school students of Minsk women’s gymnasiums.
The archivists – Oksana Zenko, the leading researcher of the Research and Publication Department, and Alyona Lyubaya, the leading archivist of the Information Retrieval Systems Department, demonstrated the original documents. The presented materials aroused great interest among the students and teachers of the college, and they asked the archivists many questions.
NHA of Belarus plans to continue working with the College of Digital Technologies in the future to give special children the opportunity to touch the history of our country.
