In the National Historical Archive of Belarus, a metrical record of the death of Antonina Ivanovna Rokossovskaya, the mother of a Soviet and Polish military commander, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union and Marshal of Poland Konstantin Rokossovsky, was found.

The identified document (NIAB. F.136. Op.25. D.356. L.82v.–83) allows us to clarify several essential details. It was previously believed that Antonina Rokossovskaya died in 1911, but in fact this happened much earlier – on July 14 (1), 1906, and dropsy became the cause of her death at the age of 53. The record also unambiguously testifies that Antonina Rokossovskaya was buried at the “public Telekhan cemetery”.

The document was revealed by a regular visitor to the reading room of the archive, Vladimir Mikhailovich Abramchuk.
