Action «Archives for school» in the Minsk State College of Architecture and Civil Engineering
On March 21, 2023, in the assembly hall of the branch of the BNTU «Minsk State College of Architecture and Civil Engineering», an employee of the Department for the Use and Publication of Documents of the State Archive of the Minsk Region gave a lecture on the topic «Remember to live. Burnt villages. A crime without a statute of limitations» dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy.
During the lecture, the students once again recalled the terrible events that took place in Khatyn on March 22, 1943, considered the stages of perpetuating the memory of the burned village, and also learned about the tragic fate of some other settlements in the Minsk region that were destroyed by the Nazi invaders.
The students were presented with archival documents telling about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the war years, the burning of Khatyn and other villages of the Minsk region, as well as documents on the creation of the Khatyn State Memorial Complex.
At the end of the lecture, the archive staff spoke about the events and projects that are being held in Belarus to perpetuate the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
