On February 23, 2023, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus took place in the reading room of the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter – GAGOM).
The director of the archive, A.N.Sushchevich, made a congratulatory speech to the staff of the Step.
– This year the holiday has a special significance – the Armed Forces of our country have turned 105 years old. This truly national holiday is deeply significant for all people of our Republic, and carries in its content a symbolic unity of the past and the present. This is a celebration of those who defended the country in different years, who are now protecting the peaceful sleep of Belarusians. Those who for decades have proved boundless love for the Motherland, devotion to the Motherland, loyalty to duty and oath, bravery in battle, discipline and order in service, – said Andrey Nikolaevich.
At the end of the event, the director of the archive, A.N. Sushchevich, wished the strong half of GAGOM strength, happiness, health, well-being and a peaceful sky!
In addition, on this festive day, Andrey Nikolaevich took part in a solemn rally at the Novobelitsky fraternal cemetery. The invited guests honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a minute of silence, and also laid wreaths and flowers at the memorial complex.
