The Second Children’s Partisan Readings at the Begoml Museum of Folk Glory

On December 20, 2022, the Second Children’s Partisan Readings were held at the state institution «Begoml Museum of Popular Glory», timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the urban village of Begoml from Nazi invaders by partisans. The organizers of the event were the State Institution «Begomlsky Museum of People’s Glory», NGO «Belarusian Society of Archivists», State Institution «National Archive of the Republic of Belarus», the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents», the Prosecutor’s Office of the Dokshitsky District, the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen.

During the jubilee events, the Begoml Museum of Folk Glory displayed the exhibition «The Land of Courage and Glory», prepared by the State Institution «National Archive of the Republic of Belarus». In the Year of Historical Memory, the establishment «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents» handed over a fragment of newsreel of 1944 «Meeting of partisans with the troops of the Red Army», filmed by military cameramen I.Veinerovich, M.Sukhova, O.Reizman, to replenish the museum’s funds and popularize archival materials.

During the Second Children’s Partisan Readings by students and teachers of the city of p.Begoml, Dokshitsy and Dokshitsy district, Glubokoe, reports were prepared on the heroes of the partisan movement, the history of the Zheleznyak brigade, the activities of Soviet sabotage and reconnaissance groups using the example of the Severny detachment, major punitive operations against partisans and civilians, perpetuating memory of the partisan movement in Belarus. Viewing newsreels of the war years, as well as the report of the leading archivist of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information, E.I.Titkov.

This event was widely covered in the media, and ONT correspondents prepared a story for evening edition of the program «Our News»
