Holding the final meeting of the labor collective of the National Historical Archives of Belarus
On December 21, 2022, a meeting of the labor collective was held at the National Historical Archive of Belarus, at which the results of the work of the institution in 2022 were summed up. Director of the archive Oleg Leonidovich Voinov and First Deputy Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Olga Alexandrovna Ledovskaya spoke at the meeting .
In his report, O.L.Voinov summed up the results of the activity for the year both of the NEA of Belarus as a whole and of all structural divisions of the institution, and also gave an assessment of the work of each individual employee. The director noted that all the main targets for 2022, including those provided for by the subprogram «Archives of Belarus» of the State Program «Culture of Belarus» for 2021–2025, were met by the NIA of Belarus, and thanked the labor team for the successful completion of the tasks set. According to O.L.Voinov, the main tasks for the NIA of Belarus in 2023 should be to ensure the safety of archive documents, fulfill the main targets, increase the rate of digitization of documents, use the allocated funds in full as part of the capital and current repairs, improve the material and technical base of the archive, prepare and holding events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the NIA of Belarus.
In his speech, O.A.Ledovskaya described the role and place of the NIA of Belarus in the system of archival institutions of Belarus, positively assessed the results of its activities in 2022 and congratulated the staff of the archive on the upcoming New Year holiday.
The meeting also summed up the results of the contest «Genealogy of the Year in the NIA of Belarus». Such an event in December 2022 was held in the archive for the first time in order to encourage employees of the NIA of Belarus who perform genealogical research at the request of citizens of the Republic of Belarus and other states. A large amount of work on the organization and conduct of the competition was carried out by the head of the department for the use of documents and information, Olga Vladimirovna Chervinskaya.
In total, the archive conducted 97 comprehensive genealogical studies in 2022. 10 works of 7 performers were selected to participate in the final of the competition. According to the voting results, the members of the competition commission determined three winners.
They became:
I place – Deputy Head of the Department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds Tatyana Vasilievna Sheveleva;
II place – leading paleographer of the Department of Ancient Acts Daria Alexandrovna Bezmaternykh;
III place – head of the sector of exhibition activities, genealogical and thematic research of the department for the use of documents and information Olga Gennadievna Karaffa-Korbut.
