Thanks to such a document as the «List of handicraftsmen of the city of Orsha as of July 8, 1942», it becomes known that there were 137 officially registered artisans in the city. The list contains the name of each of them, the address of residence, specialization and the amount of earnings. In addition to common professions (for example, shoemakers, tailors, potters, coopers), the list also mentions quite rare ones: pourers of galoshes, combers and ice cream makers.
