October 26, 2022 Director of the institution “State Archive of the Gomel Region” (hereinafter referred to as GAG) Sushchevich A.N. took part in a dialogue platform to discuss the draft Law on the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly and amendments to the Electoral Code, which took place on the basis of the Gomel Regional Center for Transfusiology.
The organizers and main speakers of the dialogue platform are Olga Zenonovna Krech, member of the Standing Committee on Legislation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Lyubov Aleksandrovna Tkach, director of the State Antimonopoly Committee Sushchevich Andrey Nikolaevich.
The speakers told the staff of the State Institution “Gomel Regional Center for Transfusiology” about the main principles of the draft law on the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, about the role of the ANC, its functions and tasks, the method of selecting its participants, the procedure for getting delegates to this body, the decision-making procedure.
In his speech, the director of the SAGom, Sushchevich Andrey Nikolayevich, drew the attention of the audience that, according to the amendments and additions made to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus following the results of the republican referendum on February 27, 2022, the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly became a constitutional body. The competence, procedure for the formation and activities of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly are determined by Chapter 31 of the Constitution and the law.
The All-Belarusian People’s Assembly (APC) is the highest representative body of the people’s power of the Republic of Belarus, which determines the strategic directions for the development of society and the state, ensures the inviolability of the constitutional order, the continuity of generations and civil harmony.
The speakers noted the importance of dialogue platforms, during which all constructive comments and suggestions for improving the draft Law “On the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly” will be taken into account.
