On October 14, a solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the archival service of Belarus took place in the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic.

It was attended by employees of the state and territorial archives of the region, veterans of the archival service, employees of museums and libraries, representatives of organizations – sources of acquisition, holders of personal funds, students.

Thematic exhibitions, printed editions of the state archives of the Vitebsk region, a virtual exhibition “Honorary archivists of Belarus – representatives of the archival service of the Vitebsk region” were presented to the attention of those present.

The Vitebsk archivists were congratulated on the anniversary by Grigory Stepanovich Zholnerkevich, Head of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Sergey Petrovich Konopelko, Head of the Main Department of Justice of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and other honored guests.

Director of the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region Tatyana Mikhailovna Svistunova was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Main Financial Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

More than 50 employees of the state and territorial archives of the region were awarded Certificates of Honor of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, the Main Department of Justice of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and other awards.

The solemn event ended with a concert of the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
