The team of the State Archives of Gomel Region visited the Lenin Regional Universal Library in Gomel to acquaint with its permanent expositions
On the occasion of the International Archives Day on June 10, 2022 the team of the State Archives of Gomel Region visited the Lenin Regional Universal Library in Gomel to acquaint with its permanent expositions.
As part of the event, Nina Konovalova, head of the local history department, acquainted the archivists with the history of the regional library, its structure and information resources.
Also during the event Nina Konovalova conducted a tour of the Museum of Rare Books – the largest collection of rare publications in this region, and one of the largest in the country. The gem of the Museum is the oldest book in the collection – collection of canzones of Francesco Petrarch, published in Venice in 1547.
On the first floor of the library the archivists acquainted with the creative work and personal belongings of outstanding people of the Gomel region: I. Ya.Naumenko, I. P.Shamyakin, I. P.Melezh and others.
Nina Serikova, chief librarian of the local history department, acquainted the guests with the works of the national writer of Belarus Andrei Makayonok.
