The State Archives of Vitebsk Region continues to participate in the Memory Lessons within the framework of the Archives for School campaign
On 28 April 2022, the employees of the State Archives of Vitebsk Region visited Vitebsk Secondary School No. 14 and Vitebsk Secondary School No. 46 named after I. Kh. Bagramyan, which held Memory Lessons dedicated to the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, “We Will Cherish This World”.
The deputy director Tatyana Buyevich and the head curator of collections Konstantin Karpekin spoke at the lessons.
They told students about the genocide of the Belarusians in the Nazi occupied territory in 1941-1944. Their story was accompanied by demonstration of the materials of the Extraordinary State Commission for Establishing and Investigating the Nazi Crimes and Damage Caused to Citizens, Collective Farms, Public Organizations, State Enterprises and Institutions of the USSR.
The archive employees also gave information about the Vitebsk archives and the procedure of documents storage. In more detail they described the documents reflecting the history of the Great Patriotic War.
