Opening of the interactive exhibition “Partisans of Belarus” at the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus
On 31 March 2022, the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition “Partisans of Belarus” based on the documents of the unique Internet project of the same name of the publishing house “Belarus Today” and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the photographic materials of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings.
Andrey Demyanyuk, Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, welcoming the participants of the event, noted the importance of preserving the historical memory. He emphasized the necessity to unite efforts to resist the destructive attempts to rewrite the history. The creation of the Internet project “Partisans of Belarus” is the result of cooperation between archivists, journalists and scientists. To mark the opening of the exhibition, Andrey Demyanyuk presented the head of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus Major-General Gennady Lepeshko with a book about the punitive Nazi operation Kottbus.
The importance of opening the exhibition in the walls of the Military Academy was noted by the head of the administration of the Pervomaisky district of Minsk, Dmitry Shashok. He stressed that each year the number of participants of those events becomes less and less, but the memory of them should live in the hearts of people.
Ivan Sinichkin, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house “Belarus Today” noted the particular importance of the project in the Year of Historical Memory.
The Head of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus Major-General Gennady Lepeshko thanked the organizers of the exhibition for the opportunity to touch the archival documents and study the combat paths of the heroes.
