The Local State Archives in Baranovichi held a lecture “To Remember” for 8th grade students of Gymnasium No. 5 in Baranovichi

On February 21, 2022, the Local State Archives in Baranovichi held a lecture “To Remember” for 8th grade students of Gymnasium No. 5 in Baranovichi.

The lesson presented documents reflecting the policy of genocide during the German occupation in the Baranovichi region. The students got acquainted with the composition of documents that testify to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War. Within the “Archives for School” campaign, the director of the archives O. I. Shershen and the head of the preservation, accounting, finding aids, use and publication of archive documents N. V. Anishchenko told students about the main activities of the Archives, peculiarities of storage, acquisition, accounting and use of documents. They talked about the information resources that can be used to find the archive information and the composition of documents stored in them, and presented a guide to the archive holdings. The students were given a tour of the archives, where they got an idea of the archive work and visited the archival repository. In order to provide career guidance, the students got acquainted with educational institutions that train archival specialists.
