The video about the reconstruction of the building of the Gymnasium-College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music was released on the TV Channel Belarus-1. According to the correspondent of the “Glavny Efir” program, the reconstruction with modernization and elements of restoration has passed to the final stage. Restoration work is carried out daily and is nearing the end. The scaffolding was recently removed from the facade of the building.

The foundation of the architectural monument was laid back in 1699 for the school of the Jesuit collegium. For three hundred years, the building has repeatedly changed its profile: it was the home of the Minsk governor, a military hospital, the House of Councils. After the end of World War II, it again served the goals of education.

The video touches on controversial moments of the historical restoration and the process of reconstruction of the building, and presents the opinions of scholars and experts. Among the experts speaking is Director of the Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation Alexander Zapartyko. The archival institution, headed by him, holds the project documentation for the 1967 reconstruction of the building.
