From the history of archives in Belarus (the 1860s — 1960s): documents and materials / comp. : S. V. Zhumar, Ì. F. Shumeiko. — Minsk : BelNIIDAD, 2015. — 438 p.
The book presents documents and materials on the history of archives and archival science in Belarus, beginning from the creation of the first historical archives — the Central Archives of Early Records in Vitebsk — until the system of archival bodies and institutions had been transferred to the government of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. The historical sources, most part of which have been published for the first time, cover approximately one hundred years of the events extremely important for the destiny of Belarusian archives and mark a complicated but dynamic transference from the departmental autonomy and the lack of system to the modern foundations of the archive business.
The book is intended for historians, archivists, students of the humanities, local specialists and everyone interested in the history and culture of Belarus.
