{"id":1026205,"date":"2026-11-06T15:25:23","date_gmt":"2026-11-06T12:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1026205"},"modified":"2026-11-06T15:25:23","modified_gmt":"2026-11-06T12:25:23","slug":"history-through-documents-an-event-at-the-archive-of-public-associations-of-the-gomel-region-dedicated-to-the-october-revolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1026205","title":{"rendered":"History Through Documents: An Event at the Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region Dedicated to the October Revolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 6, 2026, <strong>the State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region<\/strong> hosted an event for students from <strong>the Gomel State College of Transport and Transport Communications<\/strong>, timed to coincide with <strong>the Day of the October Revolution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Archive staff explained the historical background and key stages of the revolutionary events of 1917, including the formation of the Provisional Government, the emergence of \u00abdual power\u00bb, and the Bolsheviks&#8217; rise to power.<\/p>\n<p>The students showed particular interest in the archival documents on display, as well as in <strong>the memoirs of veterans of the Great October Socialist Revolution regarding Vladimir Ilyich Lenin<\/strong> \u2014 materials preserved within the archive\u2019s collection. These records offered the students a direct look at primary evidence from the era, revealing how those who lived through these events\u2014both participants and their contemporaries\u2014recalled Lenin.<\/p>\n<p>The event also featured a screening of a <strong>documentary film about the 65th-anniversary celebrations of the Great October Socialist Revolution in Gomel<\/strong>, produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photograph, and Sound Documents.
