On September 17, 2026, a celebratory event dedicated to National Unity Day<\/strong> took place at the Pobeda Cinema in Minsk<\/strong>. It was organized by the Kinovideoprokat Unitary Enterprise of the Minsk City Executive Committee<\/strong> in partnership with the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter BGAMLI). A highlight of the event was the screening of the first Belarusian feature film, \u00abForest Story\u00bb (1926)<\/strong>. BGAMLI presented a virtual exhibition of archival documents<\/strong> dedicated to the film’s creators\u2014directors Yuri Tarich (1885\u20131967) and Vladimir Korsh-Sablin (1900\u20131974).<\/p>\n

In her opening remarks, Yu.N.Sermyazhko, Director of the Pobeda Cinema<\/strong>, highlighted the importance of celebrating National Unity Day and noted the significant contribution the country’s archives make to the historical education of citizens. D.S.Samokhvalov, a leading researcher at BGAMLI<\/strong>, spoke about the history of the film \u00abForest Story\u00bb and the lives of its creators, and answered numerous questions from the audience.<\/p>\n
