On September 8, a delegation of representatives of the archival service of the Republic of Uzbekistan<\/strong> visited the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong> (NARB). The delegation included U.M.Yusupov, Director of the Uzbek Archives Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan; D.S.Dadayeva, Chief Specialist for International Relations at the Uzbek Archives Agency; and I.T.Tokhtayeva, Head of the Tashkent Territorial Archives Department<\/strong>. Representing the Belarusian side were O.L.Voinov, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus; E.A.Stukanova, Director of the NARB; and S.V.Kulinok, Deputy Director<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Heads of the archive’s structural divisions also participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n

The Uzbek delegation was presented with a documentary exhibition, \u00abLeaders. Workers. Fates\u00bb<\/strong>, dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman<\/strong> and featuring famous Belarusian women who have left a significant mark on the history of our country.<\/p>\n

During the official meeting, NARB Director E.A.Stukanova<\/strong> spoke about the archive’s history and its main areas of work. During the discussion, archivists from Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed a number of issues related to document use and the digitalization process.<\/p>\n

NARB Deputy Director, PhD in History S.V.Kulinok<\/strong>, spoke about the progress of the joint publishing project \u00abBelarus and Uzbekistan: Common Pages of Modern History\u00bb. A number of important issues related to the structure and format of the future book were discussed.<\/p>\n

NARB guests were also shown authentic archival materials on common themes in the modern history of Belarus and Uzbekistan (the 1941 evacuation, recovery from the 1966 Tashkent earthquake, etc.).<\/p>\n

Finally, an exchange of publishing projects between NARB and archivists from Uzbekistan took place.<\/p>\n
