On August 31, 2026, E.A.Makarenko, Director of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art<\/strong> (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI), took part in a large-scale international multi-profile event held at the Yakub Kolas State Literary and Memorial Museum<\/strong>. The multi-format program included three significant cultural events: the presentation of a facsimile edition of the work of the People’s Poet of Belarus Yakub Kolas, \u00abMethods of the Native Language\u00bb, a scientific and practical roundtable discussion, \u00abThe Words and Language\u00bb, and the grand opening of the temporary international exhibition, \u00abThere Were Two of Them in the Fifth Company\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The main part of the gala event was the presentation of a unique facsimile restoration of Yakub Kolas’s first teaching aid from the 1920s. In it, the classic author outlined his vision for teaching children their native language and instilling a love of literature\u2014ideas that remain extremely relevant in today’s educational environment. The program continued with a roundtable discussion, where representatives of the archival and museum communities, scholars, teachers, and librarians discussed overcoming stereotypes in teaching literature, creating new interactive formats for working with texts, and building a continuous educational journey from school to museum to library. The event concluded with a vibrant opening of the exhibition project \u00abThere Were Two in the Fifth Company\u00bb, prepared jointly with the M.A.Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve \u00abQuiet Flows the Don\u00bb and dedicated to the reflection of the events of World War I in the works of Yakub Kolas and Mikhail Sholokhov. The participation of the BGAMLI leadership in such international integration projects underscores the important role of the archive-museum in preserving, studying, and updating the national historical and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
