In response, she received a full set of materials, including personal documents and photographs of her relatives, and posted the following thank-you note on Instagram:

«What is the Vitebsk State Archive doing? The Vitebsk State Archives doesn’t have a personal account with digital documents on its website. You can find the codes on some third-party websites, but the bulk of the documents are available in the archive itself, if you visit them in person. And thanks to two wonderful women, Tatyana and Olga, we are very grateful. They went to the archive and wrote down all the codes for the files under our family names». There are over 100 personal files stored there. We’ve copied out 11 of the main ones, covering our direct lines, and divided them into two letters. The first letter is the one we have right here with the pages for the archive. And the second is where the archive will have to actually work and search. I held off on the Belarusian and Vitebsk lines for so long only because I was constantly warned that the Vitebsk archive would leave you in the dust. That there’s nothing there, you’ll get nothing, and so on. Guys, these people work. They reply to my letters within a week, two at most. And today, after paying the invoice, they sent me scans of 50 pages of various files within an hour and a half. Here they are before my eyes. Now we’ll look at them together. The personal files of my great-great-grandfathers, across three lines. Student personal files. The personal file of a western-sea steamship. What’s most interesting is that… my great-great-grandfather’s transport. Do you understand? This is simply something incredible. If anyone who works at the Vitebsk State Archives or is somehow connected to it is watching, I bow deeply to you, you’re great, you do a fantastic job, and other archives should definitely follow your example! If we get the chance, we’ll definitely come visit! It’s a shame you can’t give tours to researchers! You’re awesome!»

Compiling a list of documents on Natalia Artamonova’s family history was made possible by the archive’s development of the «State Archives of the Vitebsk Region» software, which includes a thematic database called «Name Lists».
