On July 17, Andrei Nikolaevich Gonchar, Director of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documentation Archive<\/strong>, took part in the event \u00abRemembrance Day of the Outstanding Architect L.M.Levin: Touches to a Master’s Portrait\u00bb<\/strong>. The celebrations began with a visit to the memorial complex \u00abTo Children Victims of War\u00bb<\/strong> and the laying of flowers at the sculpture \u00abScorched Childhood\u00bb<\/strong>. Tours of the memorial complex and the Museum \u00abTo Children Victims of War\u00bb, located on its grounds, continued the memorial day.<\/p>\n

A meeting entitled \u00abTouches to a Master’s Portrait\u00bb was held at the Museum \u00abTo Children of War\u00bb, during which A.N.Gonchar, Director of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documentation Archive<\/strong>, welcomed the guests and presented a commemorative gift to the Museum. The architect’s daughter, Galina Levina<\/strong>, representatives of the Leonid Levin Historical Workshop, and Kuzma Kozak<\/strong>, PhD in history and associate professor at the Faculty of History of Belarusian State University, took part in the commemorative meeting.<\/p>\n

Leonid Levin is one of the Belarusian designers of memorial complexes and monuments, and a participant in the reconstruction of the historical center of Minsk<\/strong>. The theme of the Great Patriotic War occupied a special place in Levin’s work. His memorial complexes and ensembles, \u00abKhatyn\u00bb, \u00abBreakthrough\u00bb in Ushachi, and the memorial complex \u00abChildren \u2013 Victims of War\u00bb in Krasny Bereg, are known beyond Belarus. In 2009, Levin was awarded the title of \u00abHonorary Citizen of the Zhlobin District\u00bb.<\/p>\n
