On July 6, 2026, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as the BGAMLI)<\/strong> hosted a film lecture for second-year students of the History Department of the Belarusian State University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The documentary film \u00abIndependence Day: A Chronicle of Belarusian Statehood\u00bb<\/strong>, produced by the Belarusian State Archives of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, was screened in the BGAMLI<\/strong> reading room. The film was created by a team of authors under the general supervision of O.L.Voinov<\/strong>, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The film reflects the heroic and tragic milestones in the history of the Belarusian people throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries: the events of World War I, the rebuilding of a new life in the 1920s and 1930s, the reunification of Western Belarus with the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR) into a single state, the struggle against Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War, the difficult years of post-war reconstruction, and the expansion of industrial construction in the 1960s and 1970s.<\/p>\n

The film devotes significant space to the processes of establishing and strengthening the sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus. The filmmakers placed particular emphasis on the place and role of the First President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko<\/strong>, in the formation of an independent Belarusian state.<\/p>\n

Conducting such film lectures promotes a deep understanding of our country’s historical path. Archival film and video documents serve as a reliable foundation for the formation of civic stance and patriotic education of future professionals.<\/p>\n
