The archive-museum was directly involved in the selection and preparation of materials for the exhibition.

The exhibition, featuring the artist and teacher Nikolay Grigoryevich Zalozny (1925–1982), a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was organized in connection with the 100th anniversary of his birth. Nikolay Zalozny was born in Ukraine and studied in Belarus. He graduated from the Minsk Art School and the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute, and later taught at these institutions, where he mentored several generations of artists. Although Nikolai Zalozny, as a young man, fought in the final stages of the Great Patriotic War, military themes were not directly reflected in his work, giving way to peaceful subjects.

The anniversary exhibition covers the period 1965–1982, showcasing the artist’s broad range of genres, including narrative paintings, landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. The exhibition features works from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the funds of the Belarusian Union of Artists, his family collection, and a private collection.

The exhibition space is harmoniously complemented by graphic portraits of Nikolai Zalozny from the collection of the Belarusian State Academy of Fine Arts (BSAMLI). These works were created by his fellow artist, Mikhail Lisovsky. The exhibition also features the artist’s palette, preserved by the heirs of his friend, the artist Alexander Semiletov. The exhibition will be open to visitors until August 9, 2026, in the exhibition building of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. (K.
