On June 18, 2026, the director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter – BGAMLI) E.A.Makarenko<\/strong> and the leading archivist of the department of information and search systems and automated archival technologies E.A.Lukina<\/strong> took part and gave speeches at the International Round Table \u00abAudiovisual Documents as a Historical Source\u00bb for the 85th anniversary of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents (hereinafter – BHAKFFD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Scientists and archivists from Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan took part in the round table.<\/p>\n

The dean of the Faculty of History of BSU, Professor A.G.Kokhanovsky<\/strong>, the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov<\/strong>, the Head of the Department of Source Studies of the Faculty of History of BSU, Professor S.N.Khodin<\/strong> gave a welcome speech to the participants of the round table.<\/p>\n

Plenary reports were presented by A.N.Honchar<\/strong>, director of the BHAKFFD, together with M.D.Romanova<\/strong>, head of the Department of Russian History of the History Faculty of BSU, professor O.A.Yanovsky<\/strong>, professor of the Department of Source Studies of the BSU History Faculty, professor M.F.Shumeiko<\/strong> and professor of the Russian Humanitarian University, first deputy chairman of the Board of the Russian Society of Historians-Archivists, doctor of historical sciences, associate professor G.N.Lanskoi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The work of the International Round Table took place at a high scientific level, issues were discussed about the peculiarities of storage, description and use of audiovisual documents, the use of artificial intelligence when working with them.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of this event, E.A.Makarenko<\/strong>, who is the chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Society of Archivists, managed to establish contacts with the Russian Society of Historians-Archivists and outline further ways of cooperation.<\/p>\n
