{"id":1024354,"date":"2026-05-25T10:36:57","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T07:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/?p=1024354"},"modified":"2026-05-25T10:36:57","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T07:36:57","slug":"on-the-presentation-of-an-exhibition-dedicated-to-the-heroic-deed-of-v-n-karvat-at-the-state-archives-of-the-brest-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/news\/1024354","title":{"rendered":"On the presentation of an exhibition dedicated to the heroic deed of V.N.Karvat at the State Archives of the Brest Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On May 23, 1996, <strong>Vladimir Nikolaevich Karvat, a first-class military pilot, lieutenant colonel, and head of air and fire training at the 61st Air Base<\/strong> stationed in Baranovichi, Brest Region, died during a training flight while diverting a falling aircraft from a populated area. <strong>By Decree No.484 of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated November 21, 1996, Vladimir Karvat was posthumously awarded the title \u00abHero of Belarus\u00bb<\/strong> for courage and heroism displayed in the line of duty. <strong>Vladimir Nikolaevich became the first Hero of Belarus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The State Archives of the Brest Region<\/strong> has prepared an exhibition of archival documents dedicated to <strong>Vladimir Karvat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition features archival documents, periodicals, and open-source materials related to the heroic deed of <strong>V.N.Karvat<\/strong> and perpetuating his memory.<\/p>\n<p>On May 22, 2026, 10th-grade students from <strong>Brest Secondary School No.8 named after Hero of Belarus V.N.Karvat<\/strong> viewed an exhibition of archival documents.<\/p>\n<p>The students also took a tour of the archive, including a visit to the archival storage facility and the document repair and restoration laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the event, the documentary film \u00abHero Fortress\u00bb, produced by <strong>the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents<\/strong>, was shown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\"  width=\"100%\" cellpadding=\"5\" cellspacing=\"0\" class=\"gen_table\">\n<tr align='center'>\n<td align='center'><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/archives.gov.by\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" id=\"media-1024355\" class=\"wp-image-1024355 alignnone size-full\" width=\"70%\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td align='center'>1.
